We showcase so many great event professionals in Ceylon Blu Event Studio. Meet John and Janeen Fuqua owners of Central Event Rentals in Bend Oregon. Here is what they have to say.
Melissa: Hello John and Janeen, I have been working with you since you opened your Rental Company. How long have you been in business?
John & Janeen: Our first rental customer was in April 2007. We jumped right in with a wedding event with 250 guests! I think we did well as the bride & groom remain good friends to this day! And yes, we have known you and worked with you for 7 + years. Your network partnership and friendship have always been a huge blessing for us!
Melissa: You are an Event Rental company, what do you rent and to who?
John & Janeen: We rent items necessary for event gatherings and our inventory has grown exponentially from our first event in 2007. We rent equipment from linens to large stages; from plates to portable bars, heaters, and refrigeration, and of course tables, chairs, dance floors and canopies.
We service any event need including large and small corporate events, family reunions, parties of all types, spiritual and cultural events, celebrations, special military events, memorials, and non-profit events. Our largest demographic remains wedding related rentals and services.
Melissa: What sets you apart from other rental companies?
John & Janeen: Well, we believe all rental companies operate within their unique area of expertise. At Central Event Rentals, we stay focused on our clients’ needs and emphasize the areas we believe are strong for us. Communication, hard work, and honesty with our customers should be noticeable at all times. With customer service as our #1 goal, we understand that the next phone call or e-mail we receive is of utmost importance. We love our work and we want it to show.
Melissa: How far in advance should a customer reserve your rentals?
John & Janeen: Of course with a fairly large inventory we usually can supply an event usually on short notice. Ideally, beginning the reservation process 4-5 months ahead for a wedding is good. Changes are inevitable and we encourage our clients to make changes as much as they need to. The longer the reservation, the more relaxed our clients feel as they adjust their numbers.
Melissa: How can someone get in touch with you?
John & Janeen: Telephone, e-mail, our website, Facebook and text are all great ways of communication with us. We can usually respond to inquiries in just a few hours at most.
Melissa: What do you enjoy the most about your business?
John & Janeen: Well that’s easy, we enjoy meeting with our clients whenever possible. The opportunity to build lasting relationships is rewarding. .
Melissa: Can you share one funny story that has happened to you while doing business.
John & Janeen: Wow, so many… hard to choose. Various wedding sites have interesting animals up close and personal. Being rammed and leveled by a sheep (twice) during event pick up (would have made a great YouTube video), a turkey ‘dancing’ on our truck, donkeys ‘helping’ us set up, (that never ends well). Of course, there are always the late night golf course sprinkler systems!
I guess we will go with the late night (midnight) pick up of a wedding at a remote location. A few bistro lights and the moon was our only light. We finished loading up and started playing a quick game of ‘corn bag toss’ game left out by wedding party guests. We could barely see the game boxes 25 ft. apart but continued playing when we heard a ‘crazy scary ‘ animal grunt 30 feet away in the dark bushes. Think Bigfoot, it was that scary!! We got in the truck in ten seconds or less and got out of there!
Melissa: Thank you John and Janeen for speaking with us.
John & Janeen: Thank you Melissa; it’s great to be participating vendor at Ceylon Blu Wedding and Event Studio.
